Shaking up succession planning

Arguably there is no more important role for a board of directors than ensuring a robust leadership team. According to research, the most common reason for failing to adequately succession and scenario plan, is due to incumbents performing as expected. Governance and structure is essential for any organisation to ensure the next generation of leadership is ready to step in, should the unexpected happen.

The additional layer of planning for future market conditions also means that organisations should be seeking future talent that is in line with changes expected by the market and those within the organisation.

A recent PwC survey shows the top priority for 88% of directors is attracting and retaining talent.
