At AMS, we’re proud to announce that we’ve officially received the Menopause Friendly Accreditation, a powerful recognition of our commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive workplace for everyone, especially those going through menopause and experiencing symptoms.

But what exactly does this accreditation mean, and why is it so important?

Recognising a critical workplace need

Menopause is a natural stage of life, yet it’s often surrounded by silence, stigma, or misunderstanding, especially in the workplace. Many individuals experiencing menopause feel unsupported, leading to impacts on well-being, productivity, and even career progression.

That’s why, in 2020, Henpicked: Menopause In The Workplace established the Menopause Friendly Accreditation, the UK’s only industry-recognised standard that certifies employers for embracing menopause with clear, high standards and proven practices.

What it takes to be menopause friendly

To achieve the Menopause Friendly Accreditation, AMS underwent a thorough assessment by an independent panel. We had to provide clear, evidence-based actions and results in five key areas:

  • Culture: fostering open, respectful conversations about menopause at all levels.
  • Policies and practices: embedding support into our frameworks and procedures.
  • Training: equipping our people with the knowledge and confidence to talk about menopause.
  • Engagement: creating awareness and encouraging participation across the business.
  • Working environment: making practical adjustments to help people thrive during menopause.

This means our accreditation is not just symbolic—it’s a reflection of meaningful, measurable change.

A mark of excellence

Being Menopause Friendly Accredited places AMS among an elite group of forward-thinking employers, from FTSE100 companies and global banks, to charities, public sector bodies, retailers, and even football clubs – all committed to making the workplace better for people experiencing menopause.

It sets us apart as an organisation that leads with empathy, listens to its people, and acts intentionally to support their needs.

Changing the workplace experience for the better

We believe everyone deserves to feel respected, supported, and empowered at work, no matter what stage of life they’re in. Earning this accreditation is one step in our journey to ensure that menopause is not a barrier to well-being or professional success at AMS.

This is not the end—it’s a foundation we will continue to build upon.
