Is the Resume Dead?

It seems to be heading that direction, and maybe that’s ok. For those of us who love skills-based hiring we need to understand that it’s more than a box we check but will require a massive shift in the way we do hiring. One example is reliance on a document that often accentuates education and experience over actual skills needed be effective. So, as we move towards a skills-based approach let’s look at everything we do to ensure we are consistent in our approach. Including the beloved resume.

Employers report that they have reduced the amount of mis-hires by 88%, as a result of skills-based hiring in the recruitment process. And nearly half of employers state that it is difficult to determine applicant’s skills using résumés.
